Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set Rulebook 1979

The Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set edited J. Eric Holmes introduced countless players to fantasy role-playing. This classic version presents streamlined rules for character creation, combat, spells, monsters, and treasure, covering adventures from levels 1 to 3. Bridging the original D&D game and later editions, the Holmes Basic Set remains a landmark collectible and an essential piece of tabletop gaming history.

This is a beautiful copy of the rulebook from the 7th printing of the Holmes box set. The back cover has some rubbing and discoloration and there is one or two small interior stains. There is a small amount of staple rust.

NEAR MINT - Like new and likely unused with only the slightest signs of wear from storage.

EXCELLENT - Lightly used and likely carefully stored with defects such as slight cover, corner, spine, edge wear and lid depression if a box set. No tears, stains, writing and/or highlighting.

FAIR - Roughly used and likely stored with no care with defects such as significant cover wear, corner damage, spine creases, loose pages, moderate to heavy tears, stains, writing and/or highlighting and a crushed lid if a box set.
